The U.S. Corps of Engineers built Beltzville Lake in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The lake was officially opened for recreation in May 1972. Some of the trails have been relocated in the past few years but are clearly blazed. Interesting features: Lovely views of Wild Creek Cove from high on a hemlock- and laurel-covered ridge, Wild Creek Falls. Surface: Rocky trail, mown grassy roads, trails recently blazed.
