简介
This hike will take you over and around the Skug River , which is named after a
phonetic spelling of the Nipmuc word for "skunk." Passing over and close by long
stretches of marsh, this loop is most obviously a destination for wildlife viewing. Less
readily apparent surprises you’ll encounter along the way are remnants of a gristmill,
a soapstone quarry, farms, and a large glacial erratic sticking out of the forest floor.
