Nickerson State Park is best visited during the off-season, as it becomes quite crowded in summer with 420 campsites, miles of trails, connection to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and eight freshwater ponds. If you decide to join the masses, you’ll be happy to know that the campsites are dog friendly—just be sure to make a reservation.
