简介

Built as an access for climbers, the Mt. Rundle Trail can be taken by hikers to where the path ends. Although most of the way is in pine forest, the trees thin out at the end to permit views looking west of Banff. If you are tempted to continue to the summit of Mt. Rundle, be warned that although the ascent is technically easy (steep scree), many people have been killed on the descent where it is easy to get off route on the broad scree slopes, which lead down to dangerous cliff bands that cross the mountainside. Inexperienced climbers should hire a guide. Bring water; there is none along the trail.
