简介

Check out a restored coastal dune habitat—which once dominated San Francisco’s headlands—along the short, interpretive trail that follows Lobos Creek. Lobos Creek nourishes a unique habitat, a variety of rare and endangered plant species, and the spirits of those who visit. From the last stand of live oaks thriving in the riparian zone adjacent to the stream to the tiny and rare threespine stickleback that swims in its waters, this is a fertile environment. A boardwalk meanders out into a coastal dune ecosystem that has been rebuilt and protected in this pocket of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The boardwalk parallels the last free-flowing creek in San Francisco, which for years has been the Presidio’s drinking water source and now waters beautiful and endangered flora on its northern bank.
