What once was the mansion of Isabella Stewart, a wealthy Boston arts patron who
at the turn of the twentieth century accumulated a massive collection of classical
art from around the world, is now a museum dedicated to telling her life story. In
addition to her lofty accomplishments, she was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan and loved
horse racing. The grounds of this magnificent palace overlook the Back Bay Fens
situated right across the Fenway. This route outlines where Isabella was known to
frequently walk through this Olmsted-designed park.
